Albion, IN- From September 8-18, the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership and Arts United of Greater Fort Wayne Inc. in conjunction with the 11 surrounding county visitor bureaus will install 11 high-quality murals in the region. The goal of the Make It Your Own Mural Festival is to celebrate each community’s unique assets through public art. The murals will all be revealed on the same day with various events happening in each community throughout the duration of the festival.

Noble County’s mural will be installed on the north side of Doc’s Hardware & Rentals in Albion. In accordance with Noble County’ mood board, which was presented in the artist applications, Noble County’s mural will encompass the nature-centric experiences and ability to unwind and relax in the county.

“Although we cannot yet release who Noble County’s muralist is, we are happy to be working with this seasoned artist. Having a new mural installed in downtown Albion will not only increase local pride but draw people to downtown Albion’s small businesses and restaurants,” said Visit Noble County’s Executive Director, Emily Schneider.

Community members are encouraged to engage with this project through watching the mural’s progress in-person or via the live stream available on Noble County MIYO Mural’s Facebook page. Additionally, Noble County’s committee will be hosting a Meet the Artist event on September 10 from 4:00-7:00pm on Jefferson St. in Albion. This event is open to the public. Free food from ONE10 West Main and live music from Jon Ness will be provided. During this event you will hear from Noble County’s muralist and have the opportunity to ask questions. It is asked that you wear a mask and practice social distancing during this event.

“Public art is an asset that draws people from all over to our region. With the installation of 11 high-quality murals, we hope to see regional travel increase and people enjoy our outdoor recreational experiences,” Schneider said.

“We would also like to extend our gratitude to the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership, Art’s United, and local community member who have helped fund this event,” Schneider stated.

After the murals are installed you can enjoy themed regional road trips which explore unique assets in each of the 11 counties. Themes trip itineraries can be found at https://www.visitfortwayne.com/neiroadtrips/.
