Ligonier Marshmallow Festival is sweet fun

The 27th annual Ligonier Marshmallow Festival starts Friday (8/31) and continues through Monday as a Labor Day weekend tradition. Weekend activities include kids activities, merchant exhibits, midway carnival rides, performances, food and marshmallow fun. Most activities are in or near downtown Ligonier.

Schedule Highlights:

Friday: Marshmallow Roast, 6 p.m.; petting zoo, 6 p.m.; Jon Ness performance, 7 p.m., Fireworks at dusk in Kenney Park.

Saturday: Car show, 10 a,m.-3 p.m.; pickleball demonstration, 10 a.m.; Marshmallow Games, 10 a.m., Pedal Tractor Pull, noon; Opening Ceremony, 11:30 a.m.; Strongman Competition, noon; Marshmallow Bake-Off, noon; Tractor Pull, 3 p.m. Bike rodeo, 3 p.m.; Cool Change Band performance, 6 p.m.; Triple Shot performance, 8 p.m.; Blue Light Parade, 9:30 p.m.

Sunday: Community worship service, 11 a.m.; Fireman Waterball, noon, Adrienne Fraley performance, 12:30 p.m.; Motorcycle show, 12:30 p.m.; Corn Hole Tournament, 2 p.m.; Tierra Viva Grupoc Floklorico performance, 1:30 p.m.; 5 Guys Plus Dan performance, 2:30 p.m.; Rene Meave performance, 4 p.m.; The Fords performance, 5:30 p.m., Bulldogs performance, 8 p.m.

Monday: Pancake & sausage breakfast, 7 a.m.-9 a.m.; Police vehicle display, 11 a.m.; Mariachi Nuevo Michoacán performance, 11 a.m.; Inclognito Cloggers performance, noon; Grand Parade, “A Galaxy of Marshmallows,” 2 p.m.
