The Mid-America Windmill Museum’s annual light display opens Friday, Dec. 4

All things Christmas come to Noble County this weekend as Christmas in the Country moves into December. Cookies from the Extension Homemakers, tree lightings in Albion and Cromwell, and the Kendallville Christmas Parade will get everyone in the holiday spirit. On Sunday, the Gene Stratton-Porter State Historic Site will show Gene’s “Cabin at Wildflower Woods,” decorated as she did it in 1917. Enjoy!

Thursday, Dec. 3

Annie Oakley Perfumery: Owner Renee Gabet and her husband, Chuck, both perfumers, will host free tours, holiday music and sensory treats from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the perfumery, 300 Johnson St., Ligonier. Call 260-894-7219 or email tours@AnnieOakley.com for reservations and information.

Friday, Dec. 4

Noble County Extension Homemakers: Festival of Cookies, Candy and Crafts, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Dekko Room, Office Complex South, Indiana 9, Albion; free admission. Cookies and candy at $6 per pound; call 260-636-2111 for pre-sale orders. Raffle: 48-by-60-inch quilt in purple, pink, and yellow, first prize; $100 Walmart gift card, second prize; Sweet treat Basket, third prize; and stationery gift basket, fourth prize. Drawing is at 2 p.m. Proceeds go to Extension Homemakers philanthropy projects.

Albion Chamber of Commerce: Christmas in the Village, open houses from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at area businesses to view decorations and enjoy refreshments. Enter a drawing (one entry per location) to win one of four $25 Chamber Buck gift certificates.

Brick Ark Inn: Christmas open house, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., 215 N. Orange St., Albion; 260-636-618; www.brickarkinn.com . Enjoy Christmas punch and cookies in the historic inn, beautifully decorated for the season. Enter a drawing to win a Christmas ornament from Bronner’s.

Noble Art Gallery: extended hours, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., 100 E. Main St., Albion, offering affordable fine art works, home décor, and books by local artists, artisans and authors.

S.T.A.R. Team: bazaar with a variety of vendors: 4 to 8 p.m., historic Albion Opera House, north side of courthouse.

Santa Arrives in Albion: 6:50 p.m. in a horse-drawn wagon. He and Mrs. Claus will greet children at Albion Pizza Depot after the tree-lighting ceremony. Treasured Memories Photography will be available for photos.

Tree Lighting Ceremony: 7 p.m., northeast corner of the Courthouse Square. Noble County Saddle Club will carol on horseback and collect non-perishable items for the food pantry.

Mid-America Windmill Museum: Winter Wonderland Light Display, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The dazzling windmills and holiday features decked out in Christmas lights are a family tradition. Craft bazaar and Santa await visitors in Baker Hall. Admission is $3 per person for age 13 and older.

Cromwell Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony: 7 p.m., downtown Cromwell. Crafts begin At 6 p.m. at Smith Opera House, upper level of the Noble County Public Library-West Branch, Cromwell. West Noble Super Singers will perform at the tree lighting and afterward at the opera house. Cookies and hot beverages will be served after the tree lighting. Door prizes.

Saturday, Dec. 5

Orchard Hill Farms: Decorating the 14-foot Christmas tree, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., 11061 E. 415 N., Kendallville; 260-347-3682; www.orchardhillfarms.com . Children and adults who are kids at heart may color or sticker ornaments to hang on the tree.

Faith United Methodist Church:  Christmas bazaar, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., 411 E. Harding St., Kendallville; cookies by the pound and crafts. Call 260-347-2616.

Kendallville Christmas Parade: 47th annual parade begins at 1 p.m., North Side Elementary School, East Harding Street, and ends at American Legion Post 86, South Main Street. The theme is “Back Home Again – An Indiana Christmas.”  Sponsors are KPC Media Group, WAWK 95.5 FM The Hawk, Main Street Business Association and Kendallville Area Chamber of Commerce. Sunday, Dec. 6

Gene Stratton-Porter State Historic Site: “A Dream of Beauty” Holiday House Walk, 2 to 7 p.m., 1205 Pleasant Point, Rome City; 260-854-3790. See Gene’s cabin as it was decked out for Christmas 1917, which she described as “a dream of beauty.”  Guests can take a horse-drawn wagon ride, sample yummy treats, make crafts, listen to live music and visit with Santa. Come later in the day to experience Wildflower Woods by luminary. Admission is $5 per person, with children 4 and younger free.
