This deep ravine, heavily forested, is located between the Crooked Lake Nature Preserve and the Indiana University Biology Station. Crooked Lake is spring-fed and is the second deepest lake in Indiana at 108 feet. Frequent visitors are great blue heron, green heron, scarlet tanagers, kingfishers, and wood ducks.

Located at the south edge of Noble County, take S.R. 9 south of Albion and Merriam.  Turn west on County Line Road, the preserve's entrance is on the left side of the road.

Trail system.  Parking area is at the Crooked Lake Nature Preserve.  Well-marked trails with guide maps available.  Two loops of over 2 miles in length.

No fires, hunting, camping or picnicking; no bikes, horses or motorized vehicles.  Rules are in place to protect the nature preserve.
