Acres' largest nature preserve at 350 acres,
property was acquired between 1986 and 1996. Preserve protects wetlands,
swamp forest, a small lake, and the shoreline of the Elkhart River. Wood
duck, blue herons, green herons, mallards, and coots are some of the
waterfowl at this preserve. Can be enjoyed by canoe or boat via a DNR
public access site on the north branch of the Elkhart River.
