Locally known as "The Knobs", this was Acres'
first preserve. As interesting geologically as it is beautiful, glaciers
have left low ridges of stratified layers of sand, gravel, and a few
boulders. A wildflower carpet and forest of beech and sugar maple, as well
as the second largest tulip poplars in the state highlight this
spectacular reserve.
